As well as being part of our package options, the accommodation at La Zourcière can also be enjoyed on its own for you to come and do your own thing. All the other accommodation options listed below can only be organised as part of an activity package booked through us. We do not act as booking agents, however, we are more than happy to put you in touch with the proprietors should you wish to reserve direct.

Gîtes

La Zourcière offers an excellent resting place in Berthemont les Bains, with a south facing terrace for your breakfast or “sundowner”.

The gîte, (Gîtes de France – rated 2 Epis) can sleep up to 4/5 people, with self catering facilities. It is fully equipped, including washing machine and dish washer. Sheets and towels are provided so all you need to bring are a few CDs.

We are also able to offer another ensuite room for 2, which can be used in addition to the gite or on its own for bed & breakfast.

The house sits in 6 acres, is an excellent starting point for local walks, with an ample amount of bird and wildlife to keep the amateur naturalist content, and a stone’s throw from Berthemont’s own thermal baths.

Mel (who is a mountain leader) and I, Liz, are on site to offer advice on whatever level/type of activity you want to get in to, or take you out on guided walks. Within walking distance, organic produce is easily available; and 5 kilometres away is Roquebillière with shops, bars and restaurants.

 

Sainte-Agnès

Overlooking the Mediterranean coast at Menton, our partner Denis' winter residence sits just below Europe's highest coastal hanging village.

From here, Denis runs horse riding outings through from September to the end of May, before he takes his animals on the annual transhumance to his summer alpine base at Le Boréon high in the Mercantour.

The property consists of the house, an annexe which has two bedrooms and a separate caravan - and can accommodate a total of 12 people - ideal for large groups and families.

The setting is absolutely magnificent, and is ideally based for exploring both the coast between Monaco and the Italian border, and the beatiful hinterland rising from the coast and into the Alpes Maritimes.

Le Grand Chalet

Luc and Christine have several B & B rooms in a beautifully located chalet overlooking Valdeblore in the Tinée Valley. There’s also an open fire in the living room plus a sauna for a treat on winter nights. Christine regularly prepares sumptuous dinners made from local produce. These are a must!

La Pierre Bleue

La Pierre Bleue is situated in Saint–Martin–Vésubie, just a stone’s throw from the village centre. Richard and Sylvana Augugliaro provide top quality B & B accommodation in their lovely traditional style home. Musical entertainment is a regular add on as Richard is the head of the Mercantour Choir. Evening meals can also be provided.

Hotels

Le Chalet

Michelle Molitor offers a warm welcome to her small eight room hotel in Saint-Martin-Vésubie. Breakfast can be enjoyed on site with meals taken in a selection of restaurants in the village.

Hôtel du Grand Capelet

For lovers of real peace and quiet, the Grand Capelet offers just that with wild life and nature at its best just outside the door. Tucked up in the Gordolasque valley the hotel is very cosy with a roaring fire in the winter and a sauna.

Refuges

Several of our trips include overnight stays in refuges - which are either CAF (Club Alpin Français), CAI (Club Alpino Italiano) affiliated or privately owned. These are always warm and comfortable, with good wholesome food. Sleeping arrangements are normally on a "bunk house" basis.

Torri Superiore - Italy

Torri is an eco village which is located in the foothills just behind Ventimiglia. The hamlet dates from the 18th century and is an unusual cluster of 160 interconnecting rooms on eight storeys. It is a remarkable building, now mainly restored by the permanent team of dedicated inhabitants at Torri.

Bella Baita - Italy

Marla and Fabrizio run a B & B mountain retreat in the Cottian Alps just east of Sestrière. They are both trained chefs so you can be sure that you will need to burn off some energy in the local gorgeous scenery during the day!

Corinne runs cookery courses using local fresh ingredients, while Benoit is delighted to share his knowledge of the Mercantour National Park with you.

Ben and Karen have a lovely house just a few minutes walk from the centre of Gréolières village. From here you can enjoy paragliding in one of the best areas in Europe, walking and skiing at Gréolières–les–Neiges in the winter

Le Domaine des Aspras – Correns - France

The house at Domaine des Aspras is nestled among its own vines. It has been beautifully converted to a six bedroom house. In the Domaine you can enjoy their very own award-winning wines. Further afield there is much more for wine lovers, and abundant outdoor activities.

La Terrasse – Correns – France

Another great place to stay in the magic village of Correns. It is rare to find such a charming terrace on which to enjoy a glass of Domaine des Aspras, kindly provided by Valérie and Henri, after enjoying a dip in the pool.

La Parare – Châteauneuf Vieilleville – France

Karin and Sydney have recently restored this wonderful farmhouse, just inland from Nice with immense style and passion. It is filled with the treasures from their years living overseas and a real treat for the weary traveler. The village is an excellent place from which to explore the Italian border region and of course, Monaco.
