The 60th Nice Jazz Festival is on from July 19-26. The event offers a great range of jazz artists – fab locations – and reasonable prices.
There’s also the program of summer music throughout the Alpes-Maritimes.

Smell

Courtesy of the divine Ms Maren’s recommendation, the gardens at La Bastide du Perfumeur, near Grasse. The walk is fragrant and the staff a joy.
The flowers also on the Sentier Botanique, a quickish hop from Sospel to Olivetta in Italy. Botanist Christopher Betts has written a very useful guide. We hope to do the trip ourselves this summer and will report back.

Taste

Raymond Blanc has been waxing lyrical about food in Provence. He knows you know..... Coco Beach Restaurant - founded by a Monsieur Coco (no clowning around!) in 1936 does bouillabaisse to sigh for.
