A long weekend with the mix of the mountains and the Riviera madness!

The break includes transport from Nice, accommodation, food, local transport and activities. Spend your last day on two wheels or dash down to the coast for a touch of hedonism. Due to people′s varying tastes/budgets we don′t include the hotel in Nice or elsewhere, but we can suggest some good venues.

There are two options. Either, the Berthemont Four with four nights in the Mercantour, or Berthemont 3 Nice 1 with three nights in Berthemont, and the last night on the coast. Coast hotel/flights not included.

Itinerary

• Day 1 - Arrive in Nice – transfer to Berthemont les Bains. Champagne cocktails - dinner and singing at "Henri's".
• Day 2 - Wildlife - Visit to Alpha – wolf park – a.m. Guided walk – p.m.
• Day 3 - Templar culture - Guided walk to Utelle.
• Day 4 - Mountain tracks or tarmac! Biking from La Colmiane OR drop off in Nice for some coastal "celeb therapy".
• Day 5 - Return to the UK.

Dates :

Stay in a cosy chalet – geothermal heating, an open fire, step straight outside into the snow, often to the sound of wolves howling! Full board, home cooking, followed by a refreshing dip in the hot tub under perfect starry skies. Winter wonderland location. Flights not included.

Itinerary

• Day 1 - Arrive Nice. Time out in Nice (flight time dependant). Pick up Nice airport late p.m., transfer to Le Boréon for dinner/accommodation.
• Day 2 - Guided snowshoe day. Dinner and  accommodation. Hot tub in the snow!
• Day 3 - Guided snowshoe day. Dinner and  accommodation.
• Day 4 - Morning – time out to explore Saint Martin. Afternoon – transfer back to Nice.

Stay with us at la Zourciere, enjoy some great home cooking after your days out in the hills. Trip includes – Collection/drop off Sainte Martin Vésubie. Two days guided walking. Free morning to investigate Sainte Martin Vésubie. Possibility to extend your break. All meals. Flights not included.

Hop on a plane to Nice, get into the Med during a day on the French Riviera, before joining us for some energy burning activities in the Mercantour.

This 5 day trip has 3 action packed days "on the ground", visiting our local and acclaimed wolf centre Alpha before going off in search of their wild compatriots, staying in the atmospheric village of Molliéres, plus a day of leisure in Nice, before returning home.

Following a very exciting trip over to the Valmasque in 2009 – we thought we would give our guests the chance to get to Nice and enjoy some Mediterranean air, before taking the Train des Merveilles up the Roya valley to meet us in Tende, and......., carpets of wild flowers – great refuges – rock carvings, not to mention the incredible views.

• Day 2 - Take local scenic train to Tende. Pick up in Tende. Walk  out to the refuge through the beautiful Valmasque valley.
• Day 3 - Over to Fontanalbe – superb scenery, and the unique  bronze age rock carvings of the area - overnight  mountain refuge.
• Day 4 - Return to Casterino and down to Sospel - overnight hotel  Sospel.
• Day 5 - Return to Nice on train. Free time in Nice.
